Young Men’s Program
Information
As you are no doubt aware, adolescence is a time of
considerable change, during which young people are required
to navigate a variety of developmental obstacles.
Various emotional difficulties, such as stress,
anger or depression, may arise during this period
due to any number of stressful circumstances:
performance expectations, peer pressure or family conflict.
Fortunately the Young Men’s program
aims to address the issues which have
been identified as pertinent to young men in their early years of Secondary school.
The Young Men’s Program aims to explore issues that relate to
masculinity and identity, whilst covering topics that include: Self esteem, body image, challenging stereotypes of men, anger awareness and assertiveness training, men’s health and setting goals, amongst others.
The anticipated outcomes of the program include:
· Provide a safe environment for young men to explore issues relating to being a young men, self-concept and self-esteem.
· Provide opportunities for young men to form new friendships with other young men within their school.
· To increase participant’s awareness of strategies relating to positive self talk and assertiveness.
· To increase participant’s awareness and access to support services available to them within their own school and community
environments.

femininity and identity, whilst covering topics that include: Self esteem, body image, challenging stereotypes of women, anger awareness and assertiveness training, women’s health and setting goals, amongst others.
The anticipated outcomes of the program include:
